About Bonsivo
Make the styling conversation visible before the tree changes
Bonsivo exists for a narrow moment in bonsai work: you can see potential in a tree, but several directions remain possible and the next physical decision may be irreversible. We turn one source photograph into visual alternatives so owners and practitioners can discuss intent with more specificity.
Read the source. Compare the direction. Keep the limits visible.
Every guide is designed to return the decision to the real tree rather than a generic finished silhouette.
What matters most
- The real tree remains the reference, not raw material to be replaced by a generic image.
- The product explores six supported styling directions and three visual horizons.
- Concepts support conversation; direct horticultural judgment controls actual work.
The problem we are solving
Words such as lighter crown, stronger movement or more mature silhouette are difficult to share precisely. Finished-tree references are useful, but they rarely have the same trunk and branch structure as the material being discussed.
A source-specific visual concept creates a common object for critique. People can point to the preserved trunk, disputed branch mass or alternative apex rather than arguing from different pictures in their heads.
How the product works
A user uploads one clear front-facing JPEG, PNG or WebP photo, selects Formal Upright, Informal Upright, Cascade, Windswept, Broom or Literati, chooses a 1, 3 or 5-year visual horizon and selects tree-only, in-pot or show-display presentation.
Bonsivo returns four concepts intended to remain anchored to visible trunk structure. The user can compare the source and concepts and download individual, before-and-after or grouped views when available.
What we deliberately do not claim
Bonsivo does not identify species, diagnose health, recommend care, select a pot, predict biological growth or produce an exact pruning and wiring map. A photograph cannot establish the information those decisions require.
We describe results as visual inspiration and keep limitations close to the output. Major pruning, bending, carving and root work should be reviewed by someone who can examine the living tree.
How we want to earn trust
Our public guides separate product facts, bonsai design education and inference. Indexed examples require genuine source provenance and documented generation settings. Unsupported styles are explained only when useful and are not presented as selectable features.
We prefer a smaller number of complete, original pages over a large network of thin search variations. When evidence or assets are not ready, the page stays unpublished.
Questions people ask
Is Bonsivo for beginners or professionals?
It can help both: beginners can compare directions before acting, while experienced practitioners can use source-specific concepts as a critique and communication aid.
Who makes the final styling decision?
The owner and practitioner do. Bonsivo provides visual alternatives and does not replace direct inspection or horticultural expertise.
